Staff Picks - Week 12 Part 1

We are now starting to enter into that weird phase of MLS, when teams are playing four times in twelve days and prioritizing competitions and conferences to keep their players rested.

We here at Total MLS are no different. In order to get the best picks from our staff, we’ve broken apart this week into two segments. Today’s picks consist of all the weekday matches - including Friday night - and we will pick again Friday for the matches occurring on the weekend...except Cory; he’s been doing too well all season and deserves a disadvantage.

The general consensus this week falls heavily in favor of both Chicago and Kansas City, New York City FC not far behind. Colorado’s recent faltering plus the offensive awakening of the Fire have spurred all but one of our staff to pick in favor of the home team. Meanwhile, Sporting’s defense has courted our favor against a Sounders team that just can’t seem to find the net this month with one goal in their last two games. Real Salt Lake over the season can’t seem to find the net at all, while Vieira’s boys in blue seem to want to score at will right now (NYC have only failed to score in one game all season).

Tonight’s first match has the group split, as Philadelphia has strung together four games unbeaten, and the Dynamo have maintained a consistent rate of success for the better part of the season to date. In San Jose...yeah, we as a unit have no earthly idea of what is going to happen there.

Here are our picks:
