Total MLS Goals of the Week - Week 5

We saw some great goals in Week 5 but we managed to pick out the 5 best. Without further ado, here they are.

Bastian Schweingsteiger’s first MLS goal

Just 17 minutes into his MLS debut, Schweingsteiger found the score sheet. Not only that, but it was quite the header as well!

Dylan Remick’s near post equalizer

In a match that saw Cubo Torres (yes, that Cubo) steal the show with a hat trick, Dylan Remick had quite the performance as well. It’s not too often that you see fullbacks score in this league, and it’s even more rare when they do it with a great header.

David Villa’s deft backheel

Not to take away from Jack Harrison’s great finish on this goal, but this is all about David Villa’s amazing one touch backheel to put Harrison through on goal. Amazing.

Luis Solignac’s late equalizer

Who doesn’t love a last minute equalizer to cap off an a great back and forth dual? What makes this even better than just the drama of the moment in the finish itself.

Diego Valeri’s vicious volley

Generally speaking, it’s tough to have a goal of the week come from a defensive error, but this goal is truly amazing. Sure, the clearance is poor but Valeri still has a lot of work to do to make this work. Not only does he get into the perfect position to get power behind the ball, but he also has the accuracy to put it just out of reach of the keeper. Great stuff.
