Atlanta United forward Josef Martinez, playing internationally for Venezuela, left Thursday night's World Cup Qualifier against Peru with an injury.
Martinez, who leads MLS with 5 goals, was substituted in the 59th minute after going down on a shot attempt. You can see in the video below, Martinez immediately grabbing his leg. Early reports are suggesting a thigh injury, but no official announcement has been made about the injury. The MLS community, and especially Atlanta fans, will be keeping close tabs on this story.
UPDATE: Venezuela coach Rafael Dudamel said after the game that he does not think Martinez will travel to Chile for Venezuela's next match and that his injury can take 10 days to recover. Atlanta's next MLS game is Friday, March 31 at Seattle.
