The Chicago Fire continue their roster rebuild as today they traded Kennedy Igboananike to DC United for targeted allocation money and a 3rd round draft pick in the 2019 MLS Superdraft.
Igboananike has scored 11 goals in his 2 seasons in Major League Soccer. The Nigerian has started 18 matches this season for Chicago. Before arriving stateside, he scored 64 goals in 8 seasons in Sweden.
According to the release, Chicago will retain Igboananike's Designated Player tag.
The Nigerian will join DC tomorrow and should be available for the team's game against Montreal Sunday.
