According to Alicia DelGallo of the Orlando Sentinel, Orlando City SC has released midfielder Adrian Winter from his contract due to family reasons.
According to DelGallo, the release was a mutual termination between Winter and the club. By mutually terminating the contract, Orlando City no longer has to pay the remainder of Winter's contract. Winter is expected to sign with a club in Switzerland. Winter had made over 200 appearances in the Swiss Super League before signing with MLS.
After joining Major League Soccer in July 2015, Winter made 22 appearances, 19 starts, for Orlando City, scoring 5 goals and adding 3 assists.
Winter's release will free an international roster spot for Orlando City, with the transfer window opening on Monday.
