Yesterday NFL linebacker Shane Ray took to Instagram to show off this compelling "back piece" that displays his love for all things Kansas City, and needless to say, it got some people talking.
Most notably for many, was that he had a logo of the Kansas City Chiefs tattooed on his back, despite currently playing for defending Super Bowl Champions, the Denver Broncos.
This being Total MLS, we were more taken by the amazingly prominent position of the Sporting Kansas City Crest. We thought that Chad Ochocinco was the NFL player (well former NFL player) with the biggest and most public SKC connection, but he's going to have to step his game up, because right now Shane Ray is the king of that tiny hill.
Now, we'd be remiss if we didn't point out that Ray was born in 1993, which means that the crest he grew up with was the Kansas City Wiz/Wizards logo, but we really can't blame anybody for not wanting to get that tattooed anywhere on their body. Because, well:
We've got to assume based on this tattoo that nobody loves Kansas City more than Shane Ray loves Kansas City and that's awesome. Here's hoping that SKC doesn't keep re-branding every few years or else he's going to run out of space. We also really hope that he finds some room for a Swope Park Rangers tattoo in the near future. We'll be keeping an eye on this story, and bring you any new developments.
