It seems as though the Herculez Gomez era at TFC has come to an end.
While playing in Toronto red, Herc only managed to score 1 goal, but it’s a goal that won’t soon be forgotten on a night that will live long in the memories of all who witnessed it. A fortunate ball whipped into the middle by Jackson found its way onto the foot of Herculez, who calmly finished, giving TFC a 1-0 lead against RBNY. Gomez then made way for Sebastian Giovinco, whose goal clinched the first ever playoff berth in franchise history.
With Gomez and Luke Moore now gone, there are 2 first team roster spots available. Will this now be the opportunity to use young Canadian strikers like Mo Babouli and Jordan Hamilton, or will TFC look to fill Herc’s spot with a striker with a better finishing pedigree?
